China IP Protection was addressed by Jin Lan in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City - “Intellectual Property Protection in China is going through a new paradigm as more and more Chinese companies moving up the value chain to have their own “, explained Jin Lan, President of Octaxias Company, L.L.C. to a lunch crowd of Intellectual Property & International Law combined section of Utah State Bar.
With President Hu’s visit to the U.S. and heavy media coverage of IP protection in China, Lan identified new opportunities in China for US lawyers. Although IP protection is not up to US standards, Lan sees hopes of increasing enforcement of IPR resulting from China government’s innovation policy, the branding strategy of MOFCOM and shifting business models of the manufacturing sector in the coming years. That means more IP works for US based IP lawyers from Chinese companies in mainland China.

Lan advised that all companies who wish to do business in China should have its IP registered before going into China market. Octaxias Company, L.L.C. provides in-house IP protections in China for its clients. Octaxias is actively involved with IP licensing in China.

Jin Lan was invited to speak to Utah State Bar and law firm of Workman & Nydegger. Workman & Nydegger is one of the largest IP firms in the United States. On April 25, Jin Lan delivered another speech titled “The 7 Chinese Cultural Traits that Shape Negotiating Behaviors” to the lawyers of Workman & Nydegger.
Both speeches were well received.
